Masala Chai

This is one of my most favourite beverages and the easiest to make.  Here is my favourite recipe for Masala Chai without any mess.  

Ingredients :-

Tetley orange pekoe tea or any orange pekoe tea - 3 tea-bags

Sugar - 5 tsp

Creamer (Coffee whitener) or light cream or milk -  3 tbsp of coffee whitener or 1/2 cup of hot milk (use at least 2 % milk although I prefer full fat milk) or 4 to 5 tbsp warmed cream

Ginger - grated 1 tbsp

Cardamom - 3 (slit them and pound gently in a mortar & pestle)

Method:-

In a tea pot combine all of the above ingredients.  Add 3 tea-cups of boiling water to the tea pot.  (1 tea-cup equals 185 ml)

Let it steep for 5 minutes.

Pour desired amount of the steeped tea into a cup through a strainer.

Enjoy your warm and spicy masala chai.
