I have been making hibiscus tea for a while. It is beneficial for people suffering from high blood pressure. But it has a very sour taste. So I tried adding ginger and honey and it turned out delicious...Hibiscus is also called sorrel in Jamaica. Here is the recipe...
Ingredients:
Dried hibiscus flowers or Sorrel - 1 cup
Boiling water - 4 cups
Ginger - 7 grams or one large slice of ginger
Honey - 8 teaspoons
In a tea pot add 1 cup of dried sorrel or hibiscus flower. Put the ginger slice in a mortar & pestle and beat it lightly. Add the ginger to the tea pot. Add honey and then add boiling water. Mix with a spoon so the honey is dissolved completely. Close the teapot and let it steep for 4 hours. Using a filter pour required amount of hibiscus tea into a cup and enjoy...
